On the E3 trail:1st day roundup - Sega’s Madworld
Madworld looks to be the title to bring sin smack into Nintendo Wii’s otherwise puritan catalogue. It looks like Sin City & even the dark humour looks to be in place but will it be enough to capture the interest of Wii owners?
The advantage that Madworld has on it’s side is that there is nothing else like it on the Wii just now & it’s release could lead the way for more adult orientated gaming to emerge on the young console.
The storyline premise reminds me of the film/book, The Running Man where the main character is forced to take part in a televised barbaric gameshow. In Madworld the player finds himself in control of Jack, a character who has to participate in a gameshow called Death Watch. The similiarties between the Stephen King horror & the Frank Miller influenced game, possibly end here.
