MMO trials: EVE online trial over

End of trial thoughts.
I have to agree with mbp here, I did enjoy the trial but my concerns were that the trial is more a trap laid out by the MMO to snare your attention into buying the 1st month of game time.
I have my reservations with timed trials & for it to be a fair trial a pause function should be allowed. This would allow players that have yet to decide on a game, the full length of the trial time to make an informed decision. The pressure should be off the player in the trial period & on the game to perform, not the other way round.
My activity in this 21 day trial assumed I could play EVE Online everyday of that trial, to get the most out of it. With the 21 days being concurrent, it allowed no time in those 3 weeks to be away from the game without the feeling that I was missing out.
My life away from the gaming does go on & maybe I just planned this trial at the wrong time. But with such a short window of opportunity, I really think the trial is more a marketing ploy rather than a way to introduce a player to a game.
I suppose it’s just the nature of the beast when it comes to MMO gaming & I am yet undecided on whether to do another MMO trial.

Do another MMO trial? Are you nuts laddy!
Seriously though, the 21 day trial is quite an offer in the MMO industry, most being 14 days and some even shorter (Tabula Rasa being one of those). Having said that, it is hard to truly judge an MMO in such a short time, but most folks are able to decide by the end of the trial.
From what I’ve read, you seem to have enjoyed yourself, and that always important! Maybe the timing isn’t the best as you said – summer is upon us and the lure of the outside is very tempting.
Having said that, I hope you’ll turn you trial into a subscription so that I get to read more of you adventures.
Fly safe,

Yeah Crazykinux there are many more MMO trials out there to be played…CoH for one but I really am going away from PC gaming.
The MMO trials are an experiment to see how well the companies that run these games have done with introducing players into their world. I never intended to use it to look for a new MMO to play.
I wont be paying for a months sub in EVE online.
