First freelance news piece
Back at the start of the month, I mentioned that something was brewing on the freelance front & I am glad to say it has materialised into a writing contributor position at the gaming site, Ripten.

My first article, a news piece on Little Big Planet, is now up on the site. Here’s the link, tell me what you think or better still leave a comment over on Ripten!
Before you think I am escaping the restraints of this here blog for the heady heights of the freelance world, just let me put your mind at rest…Sweet Flag is to me my bread & butter writing & not something I will give up lightly, so you’ll see plenty more from me here.
What I will say about this new venture is I will be writing more freelance gaming material for Ripten in the future. So Keep an eye on the sidebar here at Sweet Flag, as I intend to add a freelance page, where I will link all my published work.
Right, after that I’m off for a lay down…

Thanks Jesse! Ripten is still a fairly new games site & I’m not getting paid to write there but it’s early days.

Congratulations DM, that first step is always a biggie.
By the way considering your recent decision to invest in not one but two consoles I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about moving from PC gaming to consoles. It is old news now that PC gaming is in decline. I suppose as long as we can still play the games we like the platform shouldn’t matter but I am an old time PC gamer and I shudder at the though of replacing my keyboard and mouse with gamepad.

Yes mbp it was a big step for me, am already getting comments on the article over at Ripten which is nice to see.
I think my gaming will move over to the Wii & PS3, little by little. When there’s titles coming out like GTA4 & Little Big Planet on the PS3, I really can’t see myself sitting at the PC grinding another WoW level.
Maybe the break from keyboard/mouse will do you good…just got the Wii yesterday & so am putting Zelda through her paces. I’ll be sure to let you know my thoughts here!
