Further progress in the FA Cup

The fifth round drawn & again Liverpool get to play at home this time against Barnsley. With Arsenal & Manchester Utd drawing each other in this round, I feel confident that Liverpool will progress to the Quarter Finals more than I feel for Arsenal beating a Manchester Utd team that seems can do no wrong.

4th Round Liverpool 5 Havant & Waterlooville 2

Sure Havant & Waterlooville gave a good account of themselves at Anfield, not many teams lead twice against Liverpool in a game. For me, when one of their players admitted singing Your never walk alone to Steven Gerrard while on the pitch at a corner in the game just sums up the spirit in which this game was played.

Well done to the Kop for applauding Havant & Waterlooville at the end of the game, surely the memory will stay with them longer than the trip to Old Trafford that Manchester Utd laid on the following day.

My form last 5 games: LDDLD

Changing my predictions before kick off doesn’t always pay off & so going from 1-1 to a 3-1 win for Liverpool v Aston Villa in the PL was the wrong move & cost me a point. I really didn’t expect Liverpool to draw a forth game in 5 but it really sums up Liverpool’s form of late.

On the other hand with so many other players in the league predicting 6-0 & 7-0’s etc I made the decision to change my initial 7-0 prediction to 5-1. My thinking being, sure Liverpool will win the tie but instead of going with the herd thus nullifying my point(s) I’d go with a wining scoreline that was unpopular. Shame I didn’t give H&W another goal that would have given me all 3 points but then how many teams get 2 goals at Anfield?

Although I didn’t get a correct scoreline, my negative Goal Difference has been reduced by 2 points to -57 but I really need a couple of perfect scores to get me within the top of the league.

My prediction for the midweek game in the PL against West Ham? 1-2 to Liverpool…although I reserve the right to change this just before kick-off!

YNWA.

That Havant & Waterlooville game was the type of thing that makes the FA Cup so great.

I watched Arsenal dump NUFC, but I really enjoyed watching Sheffield Utd knock out Manchester City. I still feel like the Blades got a pretty raw deal last season.

Neil Warnock didn’t cover himself in glory with his comments against Liverpool at the end of last season when he was manager there…since then any opportunity he gets to slag Rafa & Liverpool off he does. Never liked the guy…
