Stropp’s World poll
Stropp likes to poll his readers on a regular basis & I like to take part in the process. A recent poll, “How many MMOs have you played?” gave Stropp a few conclusions, one being:
“I was a little surprised that the biggest group was the one that had lost count of the number of Massive Online games that they had played, meaning that they had played more than five. I was expecting that the numbers would be more in line with the current breakdown of players in the various MMO games. In that case the biggest group would be those that had only played World of Warcraft, with those that had played two or three MMOs being the group that had grown bored with WoW and had dabbled in other games.
I expect this has to do with the fact that most MMO players never or rarely visit web sites about the game they are playing. They are actually too busy playing the game, in the limited amount of spare time that they have.”
The last paragraph didn’t sit comfortable with me & I suggest to Stropp that he may find a good number of his readership may not be playing a MMO but they still like to read about the MMO genre. I know for a fact that two of my regular readers, Jonny & robustyoungsoul have both played MMOs in the past but are not playing currently.
Early this month I posted about blogging & if bloggers are feeling confident about carrying on in 2008. It gave Sweet Flag it’s largest response with over 20 comments & I believe that Stropp’s new poll “As a MMO gamer I am currently” gives Stropp’s readership the chance to highlight if they are reading blogs as well as playing them. As this is a good insight for the writers of MMO/gaming blogs I wanted to get Stropp’s poll out there where his readership may not have touched yet, so head over to his blog & take the poll.
Stropp has listed a good selection of options to vote for & I suggest you head over to Stropp’s World to make your voice heard. I think the polls results will possibly show that most gaming/MMO bloggers have a bigger readership share that are not currently playing an MMO compared to the readership that do play a MMO.
I will be keeping a eye over how the results are going & will make my own observations on the results. The link for the poll is already in the text above but I will link it again below as I think it to be a very important marker for blogging/MMO playing at present:
