Liverpool v Arsenal

2-1…my prediction.

Recent efforts to predict the correct result/scoreline have been futile with my game streak being 4L going into this game. So am I going with my heart or head on this game?

Liverpool have recently been under performing in recent games & this has knocked on against my results in LFC Reds Prediction League. With the loss of Alonso to the midfield, Liverpool have fielded a tired looking Mascherano & a very poor passing Sissoko alongside Gerrard. It hasn’t produce a great outlet for the strikers & it looks like Pennant has been carrying a injury for weeks also.

The choice of strikers has also been a little suspect too. Surely Crouch deserves more time on the field than he has been getting of late?

So where does that leave today’s team against Arsenal?

My prediction would have been different if I knew Torres & Alonso were not to be included in the squad but alas it’s not always what players you have at your disposal but how the team performs as a unit.

My worry is that against a well balanced Arsenal team, Liverpool’s midfield must dominate this area of the field. Arsenal love time on the ball & play very much to feet. Break that cycle of passing will give Liverpool a strong foothold in the game.

So does Alonso get the nod over Mascherano or Sissoko? It’s a decision I would not like to make but I think Sissoko & Alonso would have to sit in the middle of the park & maybe have Gerrard on the right in place of Pennant.

I won’t be crossing my fingers on this game…more like closing my eyes & ears for 90 minutes!

YNWA.

Great match that lived up to the billing for me. I was definitely more impressed with the Gunners in this one, they dominated for the vast majority of the match for me.

Meanwhile, NUFC drops all the points to Reading. Ugh.

Game is causing a stir on the forums I read atm.

Arsenal are the on form team but a draw was a fair result, the stats show a fairly even game. Liverpool suffered 2 injuries rushing players back into the squad…

    Newcastle v Liverpool 24th November…fancy a wager? :)
