Lost & found
A brief history for those curious of my past WoW experiences.
My first attempt at a main character was a human Warlock. I played Albercal to the dizzy heights of level 36 but guild master burnt-out took it’s toll & he was retired from service.
With WoW then still being new, yes I played from the start, these times were my fondest memories of playing & there was plenty of naive time wasting activities that Albercal got involved in. Being a joint GM to the Pure Bloods wasn’t one of them but some guild activities were…most of the names are now lost to the past but my ex joint guild master, Glorn is still listed on the Armoury.
Second attempt came in Liber.
Again a human Warlock but this time to level 61. A number of guilds & friends made. TBC turned alot of people away from the game but I keep in touch with 1 0r 2, most haven’t returned including a few real life friends that don’t play any MMORPGs now. I still have Liber, retired as he is & drop by to see if any old friends have returned. Garold is back playing & I suspect Druzz is too but the server is nothing like I remember it.
I have tried a number of alts from Shaman to Mage to Priest but they all waned upon reaching the 20’s levels.
So I am left with Gorze, playing on a whole new server & taking no friends along. Gorze’s road is going to be a long one & probably a little slower going than Libers but I have learnt a number of lessons from past WoW & yes my readers that will mean more WoW posts in the future, aren’t you lucky!?

I never get tired of these WoW posts for the simple reason that it is the only game I have ever seen where people will go out of their way to SQUEEZE fun from it rather than just playing it and naturally HAVING fun. It’s not fun, it’s not work, it’s some new hybrid that has come to consume our souls.
Endlessly entertaining stuff.
Speaking of games, great independent game I’ve been playing if you like strategy games: it’s called “Armageddon Empires”. A quick Google should get you there, you can download a demo version. It rocks.

WoW I find is not always a game that allows natural fun, as many of my past experiences that could have been fun in WoW turned out not to be.
Maybe using the term squeeze is a little harsh. I wanted to use it as a term of exploring the fun in WoW rather than subscribing to the rush to level cap, raid etc.
Are you trying to ween me away from WoW with your casual reference to another game in your comment?!
You wicked ’soul you!

Best of luck with your renewed WOW career DM. Setting aside my own anti-WOW prejudice I think that as an older and wiser gamer going back to a game you are in a much better position to play it the way you want to. I look forward to many entertaining posts from the land of Azeroth.
By the way I like your new layout but for some reasons I always struggle to find the “post a comment” button. Usually there is a button called “comments” at the bottom of a post but your blog has a button called responses at the top. I guess I am just slow but I keep forgetting this.

@ mbp thanks but time will tell if WoW corrupts my soul or if I am able to balance playing, working, writing a blog & home life well enough. You can be sure I’ll be posting about it here!
The theme is something I have to live with. It’s good but not perfect & as I am a WP.COM user I don’t have a way of altering a theme enough to suit 100% I do agree a clearer comment button would be better…it also makes me wonder how many others have been put off from posting because the didn’t see an obvious comment link…hmm.
